Almost done

Here they are, almost finished, I think I captured them pretty well. Of course they had more elegant and wonderful in real life, but after all this is just a painting and they were real ladies on their way to quite the social gathering

All in green

Hi,

Today I feel the palette for the painting is finally coming together, rust, gold, warm green and red. I changed the front turkeys hat by painting over a thin glaze, once it dries I can rework some of the netting details.................yes, this is much closer to the hat I saw, now if only I can remember their names.

Turkey sister 4

Here they are, I'm having a lot of fun painting them and they really do resemble the ladies i spied that day.

turkey sisters 3

Here they are with the new face (much more accurate)and some color, I think they are moving in the right direction.

turkey sisters step 2

Here is step two, I get the eyes in place, I spent a while getting this eye painted before deciding that it just looked too sweet and didn't really capture the spirit of the turkey I saw

The turkey sisters 1

I remember hearing a rustling of grasses and in front of me at the edge of the field stood two well dressed turkeys who I believe were sisters. as i paint them over the next few days i will post pictures of my progress so you can see how my portrait of them develops.

Here is the first step, a rough sketch to get the composition right

Quentin

Here is a painting of the second fellow I spied running through the fields, I believe his name is Quentin and he is commonly refered to as the Dandy of Bakewell. I have it on good authority that the wedding he was attending on the day I met him was his first social event and that is probably why he looks a little nervous. No sooner had I put him up on the wall than my dear friend Maralyn from the Mossy Rock saw him and burst into tears at the very sight of his innocent face. She had to have him ,she tells me,on account of his left eye and the peculiar way it was looking at her.

Mr Vernon Cottrill

Here is a painting of the first wedding guest, Mr Vernon Cottrill, I found him running through a corn field one day, sporting a very fine hat indeed. upon seeing me he turned and gave me quite the look which I tried to capture upon returning home.
Before the paint was dry my dear friend Darrin visited my studio and absolutely had to have him presiding over his dinner guests in his lovely dinning room.

Bears are people too

I thought you might like to take a look at this painting of a lovely fellow, he will sadly be leaving soon to go to his new home in England where I know he will be well cared for.

Hello and welcome

Hi

My name is Jayne Siroshton and I am a professional artist and rather peculiar English woman living in the town of Estacada Oregon with my small and happy family and friends. If you have never visited Estacada you really should give it a whirl especially if you like rivers, forests and people watching. I am currently working on a series of paintings for a bird wedding, as I progress I will post pictures so you can see how things are going. If you would like to take a look at my work please contact me via my email.
